International Beer Day 2012: Media & Press: Thirsty Swagman

05 August 2011

International Beer Day 2012

International Beer Day is held every year on August 5th, and is the brainchild of Jesse Avshalomov when he told his local bar to start celebrating it in 2007.

The event is billed as a "celebration of beer and the people who provide it."

Throughout the world, hundreds of events take place at bars and restaurants, and participants are encouraged to not only celebrate beer itself, but also the creators of this nectar of the gods.

International Beer Day has three declared purposes:

1.) To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer
2.) To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer
3.) To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day

Taking part in this fine event is easy: simply get some people together, head to your local bar and have a few beers!

International Beer Day 2012 will be held on Sunday 5th August.
