Pub Crawl
Pub crawl is defined as "a visit to several pubs, going straight from one to the next, drinking at each of them". As practiced and otherwise distinguished drinkers, we just define it as "one hell of a good time!".
Other terms you may have heard for pub crawl include: bar tour, pub tour, bar crawl, bar hopping, gin crawl, beer crawl.
Although the name may vary around the world, the act is basically the same, with a group of people all taking the time to drink and socialise at several pubs (one after the other), and normally moving from pub to pub by foot or bus.
The number of pubs and people participating can vary substantially. Pub crawls are a great way to discover a new city and make friends.
Pub Crawls From Around the World
Maryborough, Queensland, holds the official Guinness World Record for the largest pub crawl ever held (since 2005), and the town never fails to break this record every year – with more than 4,500 keen drinkers participating.
Thirsty Swagman holds a wild pub crawl that doesn't just hope between bars, but also continents. Heading to six world record destinations over four different continents, travellers on this pub crawl really get to see the world - through the bottom of a glass! It's one hammer-time pub crawl with around 80 pubs on the itinerary.
The Monopoly Pub Crawl is another epic adventure. Held several times a year in London, this pub crawl heads to all the famous streets from the Monopoly Board Game. It involves visiting 26 pubs which correspond to stops on the Monopoly board – so if you plan on having a pint at every stop, it might be a good idea to eat something somewhere in-between.
