Singles Travel
Everyone knows that being single can be one wild time. You’re independent, free, and all you have is YOUR needs and YOUR wants and desires to look out for. So why not take the next big step and travel while you don’t have anyone else’s obligations buckling you down?
Single men and women have two travel options that just shouldn’t be turned down – travelling with mates, or travelling solo. So when making the tough decision, we’ve given you something to think about:
The Perks of Singles Travel
Free to Roam. Everything you do is for yourself – your rules! Go everywhere YOU want to go, eat at the place YOU want to eat, and just have the freedom to really self-indulge. Travelling solo is a great way to immerge yourself in new cultures and to really get to know and understand what makes you tick. Not to mention, your confidence and independence is likely to shoot through the roof after an experience like this.
The Money Situation. When travelling solo, you’re often more likely to give yourself the time to find the best deals and bargains. If you are patient and flexible, you’ll reap the rewards and your money will take you much further. Although you can split share-rooms if you were travelling with a mate, the option of rooming in a 6-bed dorm is often still cheaper and you’ll also get to meet some awesome people along the way.
Make friends Easily. If you are by yourself, you’re probably going to be a lot more likely to strike up a conversation with that guy or girl your rooming with back at the hostel. Especially if it means you’ll have a drinking buddy for the night. Travelling solo, will give you loads of opportunities to really come out of your comfort zone and even make friends for life because of it.
The Cons of Singles Travel
Globetrotting alone can be one scary time. It’s common for people to feel lonely, confused or intimidated when trying to communicate with foreign-speaking locals, negotiate with taxi drivers, or even when eating at a restaurant on your own.
Thirsty Swagman’s Tip: This will get easier every day and the challenge will really help you to discover yourself.
