Worldwide Pub Crawl
A round-the-world pub crawl might not be much of a departure from your usual travel plans, but now you can let someone else make the arrangements for you.
The ‘Around the World in 60 Pubs’ trip, with Australian touring company Thirsty Swagman, will visit more than 60 of the world’s best pubs and bars.
“This tour is the ultimate adventure to the finest nightlife destinations on Earth, without any boring sightseeing or early wake-ups” said Kenneth Hart, founder of Thirsty Swagman.
“Those who embark on this journey will have a story to tell for life. Nothing even close to this has ever been done before, anywhere or any time.”
The first tour departs London on March 24, 2008, stopping at 11 destinations including Munich, Prague, Reykjavik, Dusseldorf, Phuket, Auckland, Honolulu and Cancun.
“Sixty pubs. Twenty-five days. Twelve countries. Four continents. One hell of an experience!” boasts the website.
“We chose all the destinations because of their reputation for nightlife and choice of pubs and bars,” said Karen Logan, Media and Online Manager at Thirsty Swagman.
“Every place we visit offers something totally unique, and no two pubs will ever be the same. From the longest bar on Earth in Germany to live music pubs in Thailand, every night is action packed.”
Since July 2006 Thirsty Swagman has been offering an alternative to the usual sightseeing and experience tours in the form of a “purely pub and bar-based itinerary, usually taking in the local nightlife.”
The company will finalise bookings by December 31 and the tour is limited to just 25 people. It costs A$11,900, including all flights, accommodation, transport, entry to pubs and bars and some drinks promotions.
Those who survive will also get an official certificate for completing the first ever roundthe-world pub crawl.
