Oktoberfest 2015 starts September 19 and is expected to attract record visitors, each year totalling over 6.5 million people.
Practice your beer drinking early – a staggering 7 million liters of brew is downed during the festival, when locals and tourists alike flock to Theresienwiese in Munich, Germany.
Of course, it’s not all about the beer – the epic food, ranging from baked pretzels to roasted pork knuckle is one of the most talked about things of Oktoberfest, as are the traditional Dirndl dresses and Lederhosen which have become so popular that it’s almost compulsory now to wear them.
For those looking for a bit more outdoor action, the countless rides offer relief from the beer tents. There are 14 of them, each holding up to 10,000 beer swilling festival goers.
Make sure you book your accommodation early! Some hotels book out a year in advance.
